Would This Benefit Me In The Future?

I'm only 16 years old and I'm about to start doing Graphic & Web Design work as a part-time job for my girlfriend's parents while I continue studying at school. It's not a lot of work and it just involves me designing and creating things such as my girlfriend's mum's website for her business. It's something I'm interested in and something I feel I'm talented at. I was just wondering whether this would help me in the long run. For example, if I do things such as the website, will other companies be interested if my work is good? I'd like to do this as career if possible but my GCSE results wern't amazing. I got 11 GCSE's and only a 'C' in Graphics which does not demonstrate my full potential. Is there a chance that this could be the start for me?
