  1. Yes, with accurate head shots.

Why didn't you pick the Whisper .22?  It would handle the varmints better at the same price.

  2. Don't underestimate the knock down power of a .177 pellet traveling at 1000 fps. I live in the desert in Arizona and have an RWS that is .177 and fires at 1000 fps and have taken rabbits (jack & cottontails), squirrels and a bobcat. I usually go for the kill zone, heart lung area.

  3. yeah it would     but its a little expensive dawg... i got my gamo big cat 1200, got a 6-24x40 scope and biopods and flashlight for under 220$ and the gun costed 140 itself

EDIT: 4 people that say that a pellet gun isnt enough power 2 take down skunks, i've already shot 2 foxes at 25 yards and it was a 1 shot i immeadate kill, so if it'll take down a fox, it'll take down a skunk or a possum, or raccoon

  4. Small caliber, so you need to shoot strait  for vitals when it comes to the larger game such as skunks and rabbuts.

  5. I wouldn't go after a skunk with a .177. Aside from that, yes this is a varmint round.

  6. It should work fine for the species you mentioned. If you wanted to shoot raccoon and possum, a .22 caliber air-gun would probably be a better choice, but in general break-action .17 caliber air-guns that generate 1000 fps with lead pellets work fine for hunting small game.

One minor point, before you spend over $200, you should probably check with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in your state (or your state's hunting regulations) and make sure it is legal to use an air-gun to hunt small game. There are some states which prohibit the use of air-guns on small game. Others don't care what you use. The way to find out which you fall into is to ask your state DNR.

  7. It will do the job if you take head shots.  A .177 caliber pellet at 1000+ fps is adequate for the small game, but you may want to use a larger caliber for skunks and larger.  Skunks are pretty tough.  Raccoons and possums can take an even bigger hit and keep going.  I have trapped and hunted for about 30 years, and I would use nothing less than a .22 caliber on those larger small game animals.

  8. for sure. but for pesonal taste i would buy a cheap .22....way more fun to shoot.
