Question:

Would You Welcome A Traitor Back to Your Team?

This just popped into my mind because Bobby Holik returned to the Devils. He was the original Scott Gomez. Just like Gomez, Holik left the Devils for the Rangers for a big fat salary.

Would you welcome a traitor back to your team (if he was a good player) because he finally came to his senses and returned home - or would it take time for you to forgive him? Any other ideas?

  1. If you knew last year, the Devs needed a center with size, they got a disappointing Dainius Zubrus. Now Mr. no personality Holik is back with them and can provide that. He's a good checking line center even though he was a Gomez. We can count on him not only for his on-ice ability but his leadership off the ice. DEVS in 08 baby

  2. If I were the devils manager i would welcome the players back because even though they left the devils they're still good players and could maybe help them go farther on in the playoffs.

  3. It depends on circumstances. As a Thrasher fan, no way in h**l would I take Dany Heatley back. He crapped all over an organization that bent over backwards for him. And for you Pens fans whining about Hossa - he screwed us more than he screwed y'all and I'd take him back in a heartbeat. But in the meantime - thanks for Army! ;p

  4. Yeah i would always welcome them back because you would always have the former memories that player brought.

  5. I usually don't even view them as traitors, especially if they come back... if he comes back, heck, I'm glad! I would welcome him back. Like Matt Cullen -- he said it just wasn't the same and he never really felt at home when he was in NY. So I was really happy when he came back! Welcome home, I say. The Prodigal Son is one of my favourite parables.

  6. Welcome him back. The NHL is a business. If a job offered you more money, you would most likely take it as well. WE had a player return to our team a couple of times in our short history with the Panthers. Billy Lindsay and more recently Radek Dvorak. It is no big deal. I understand why they left and stayed away. Glad they came back. I liked them both as players. Time to just say welcome back Bobby.

  7. Everyone would would - remember, as fans, we cheer for the sweater - not the players...

Case in point: Every fan who has an o****m when their team signs an FA from another team...Rangers fans hate the Devils, but I'm sure Gomez was never booed out MSG when he sported the red, white, and blue...

  8. I don't consider anyone a traitor. It's business.People come and go. So, yeah.

  9. yea maybe. except hossa. he is NEVER welcome in pittsburgh again

  10. Depends........

I would welcome Jagr back anytime. He traded on us and told us he was "dieing alive" here. But I would welcome him back with open arms if he hadn't decided on Russia.

Marian Hossa......I'll never accept the @sshole back. You know why? We're not good enough for that idiot that's why. I think he'd prefer to jump on the Wing bandwagon.

.....No hard feelings to Marian. He's still a great player.

And we don't owe Hossa a thing anyways. He was only with us for a few months....even if it does feel like a lifetime.

  11. Why is it 'only for the money' when they leave, never when they come back?

Hey, Cujo's home. We'll welcome him back, even if he is only half as good as he was when he left.

  12. Kate basically said what was on my mind about Hossa.

  13. Depends upon the circumstances how the player left. If he left for more money, well I would blame the team for not trying hard enough to keep him. It's the nature of the business.  So I would welcome him back. If he left and had some nasty words for the team, city, and fans, then he would not be welcome by me.

  14. In the era of salary cap you kindof have to. I mean its a lot less about loyalty these days, usually you can only afford to have 1-3 franchise type players these days.

I think most people wil welcome a player they hate or a traitor back. They may be reluctant, but if they are a good player its hard to continue hating them.

  15. Depends how good they are

  16. Yes i would if brett hull give his job up and came to the wings to either play or office i would oh yes Don`t cosider them a traitor

  17. I would not, which is why I was worried that the Pens would end up signing Jagr, we didn't need the prima dona back, luckily he is gone forever now.

It all depends on how they leave.  I'm fine with them leaving for more money, but if they went out of their way to complain about the team I would never welcome them back.

  18. i would welcome him back, he is on ur team now,
