My friend is doing Dual Enrollment at my college in the mornings and then returns to her high school at noon. So in her spare time in between she wants to go shopping and have lunch with me. My mom told me that I really shouldn't go around driving around with my friend who is 17 because if something were to happen, I could be the one at fault since I am 18 and considered an adult and since she is a minor who is supposed to be in either college or high school a problem could arise since I should have "known better". Is this in some way true?

  1. Depend on the car insurance cover ?  does it cover passenger,s injury ?   the police do check on school skipper , too ?

  2. I know at my school if we wanted to go in a car with other students we had to fill out permission forms and get permission from parents and the school. However, if they were no longer students there was no forms to fill out. It would be a good idea to contact the college and the school just in case to find out if there is anything similiar where you are.

  3. Not true.

You would only be responsible if you caused an accident. Not if someone else caused an accident.

  4. nope

  5. not true

  6. yes 17 is still a minor age

  7. You would be responsible ONLY if you caused the accident. You shouldn't be liable for other people not knowing how to drive and crashing into you.

  8. It doesn't matter. You should listen to your mom. She loves and cares about you!

  9. Basically it works like this.  If you are in a care accident and if you are found to be at fault for the accident anyone who was injured or killed in the accident, you can be prosecuted for.

  10. The driver is always held responsible for what happens on the road while driving.

  11. If you are in a car accident either your fault or not that 17 year old can and will sue you, so too answer your question you are to a point responsible for them...
