Would a 3.5L I5 engine truck be alright on gas?

what exactly does I5 mean also?

well i have a truck with a 4.3L, it gets about 21 mpg and i havent even tuned it up in forever....so i i'm pretty sure you'll do pretty good on gas mileage with that.

not sure what the l5 is though

I5 means an engine with 5 cylinders in a straight line. For a truck, it might be OK but compared to cars it would still be considered pretty bad. I'm pretty sure you're looking at a GMC Canyon or a Chevy Colorado and even with a 2.9 it can only get 18/24, so the 3.5 would be even worse
