Would a 305 block engine fit into a mitsubishi 3,000?

  1. With a lot of work.

    You would have to find a FWD  transmission for it, fabricate the mounts, rework the front  suspension to get CV's that work.

    OR

    Build a  complete sub-frame to  allow RWD to bolt the uni-body too. Then the hood area would have to be made longer for the engine.

    How deep is your pocket book?

    It would be cheaper, quicker and better to just buy a different car that meets your performance expectations.


  2. Yes, but you could buy another 3000 for what it would cost to transplant it. Besides, the original 3000 engine will go MUCH faster than a 305 Chevy...

  3. You can make the engine fit with the right modifications but as you had to ask,I am not sure you should tackle such a project without the help of someone with experience. A friend of mine put a 454 into a Vega once so it can be done.

  4. why spend so much money with the change over? just find a japanese 3000 motor, they pushed over 300 hp stock
