  1. If employment is all that matters, you have nothng to worry about.  If being useful to humanity has value to you, find another major.

  2. I haven't gone to college, but my perception is that as long as your confident, show personality, and have the experience, you can get any job you walk into to.  If you want a B.A., then get it, there's no wasting four years of your life b/c of the benefits that out weight it.

  3. What most people don't understand is that if an employer likes you and you are intelligent and show ambition, you can get any job you want, regardless of your major.  If you're interested in sociology, major in it.  Actually enjoy getting your education, instead of suffering through something you hate just because you think its the only way to get a job.

  4. Sociology is unfairly seen as a soft degree-   In my experience the most important factors for employers is  the university attended and then the quality of the degree- to study something which interests you is very important as it may well mean you will be more successful  -  but in reality most degree's are a bit boring at times if not all the time so why not take a less soft option with more avenues open to you

  5. I'm almost 60, and finishing my Sociology degree-I love it!

  6. well, depends upon your country's economic status. nonetheless, you can work in companies in the HR for training and development. ^_^
