Would a Blu Ray disk be good for backup?

i want to buy a Sony 25gb Blur Ray rewritable disk to store my itunes. It only costs $20. Is this a good idea here is the link

  1. BluRay writers are expensive.  Look on amazon for a usb hardrive.  For less than a 100 dollars you can get over 500 GB of storage compared to 25 GB for $20.  Plus, you can delete and add files as you choose to the hard drive.  You can't do that with BluRay...yet.


  2. It might not be a bad idea for data backup. Lots of storage in one place. However, even if the media is cheap, you will still need a Blu Ray writer.
