Question:

Would a Buell 1125R be a good first bike?

I'm thinking of getting a bike. Never rode one before, so people recommend I get a 600 at the most first. But I've heard these (the Buell) handle and feel pretty well, like a 700-750. If not, what other bike should I start on???

  1. I bought a cbr600rr as my first bike. im still riding it now, there is so much i still have to learn.

i usually get bored of things very quickly, but this is gonna be one exception.

i love this bike, and it has way more power than i need it to have.

    I'd say stick with a 600

  2. 600 cc is they way to start anything bigger and you will increase the chances you will get hurt.

  3. The air cooled Buell's make power more in the region you are looking to copy.  The 1125R has over 130 Hp at the rear wheel, If I read correctly.

Still, as everyone will point out, it's not the HP available, it's the person's application of that HP that really matters.

Buell's are known for flat powerbands.  In other words, they make power very linearly, so most people really enjoy the way power comes on and doesn't surprise them.

Buell is also known for test rides.  Get your safety course down, and go ride one at the nearest Buell dealership.
