Would a DPDT foot switch work on a circuit which uses a 9V battery?

This is what the website says:

DPDT Foot Switch at 250Vac, 10A at 120V AC. Body: 28 x 18 x 23mm. Bush and k**b length: 24mm

Would this work on the above circuit? - if so whould i have to ground it?

  1. no the switch will not work with a 9v battery... because it is a 12v.... you can try using resistors

    (anything above the values given and it isn't guaranteed to work correctly)

  3. Sure, it would be over kill, like using a Peterbuilt tractor/truck to pull a tent trailer.  If you are using it because it is available, go for it.  I would not buy one for this purpose.

  4. yes, these are max ratings. anything less than that is OK.
