Would a Man Be happy If He's Thinking of Marrying a Girl?

Question

I asked a guy if he's planning to marry this girl.

He looked real sad, and eyes downcast said in a low voice: "possibly." He seems unreachable and depressed.

I found out the girl is pressuring marriage on him and so is the brother. Is this the reason he's down??

A man would act happy if he were happy to get married.  I bet you anything he knocked that girl up.  Why else would he marry someone he didn't want to?

Some thing's wrong - people who want to get married are happy. Smiling, excited - not depressed and sad.

Something is up.  A man that WANTS to get married would not look sad.  He is either scared and debating the whole marriage idea or he feels the pressure and really doesn't want to get married.  I just got married about two months ago and my husband was the one that was pushing marriage.  Before he proposed, if people asked "when are you getting married", he would have a smile on his face and say "pretty soon!" and squeeze my hand.  Our male friends that didn't want to get married, would say "May", "May the day never come" or they would avoid the question in one way or another.  Getting married should be a happy event and if your friend is not exuding happiness something is up!

yup.He shouldn't be pressured into doing something he's not ready for.Is she pregnant or have they been together for over 5 yrs or something.Than i could understand why their asking him about marriage.

It could be a number of reasons. Is this a matter of someone in your immediate family? If it's just a friend or a person of interest to you, you may get the response you are getting 'cause the person is playing you or reacting the way he thinks you want him to react.

It's really something that the man and his fiance should work out together. If he's a grown man, he knows he doesn't have to marry someone if it makes him unhappy. In fact, most guys WON'T marry unless they are ready.

ETA: Men and women "act"  and react differently to things. Women may appear elated but a man may not show his emotions on his sleeve. He may be worried or concerned about the responsibilities about beginning a future with someone.

If you are genuinely concerned about this guy's reactions, you have to ask HIM. If he is with someone else you have to ask if it's really your business.

It all depends. If you are being pressured into it, may make you feel uncomfortable. There is also the responsibility that ends up with have to get married. For example will you be able to provide for her and any kids that you will have in the future.

Sometimes though when you feel that you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you just do not care about the details.

Of course that is why he's upset...men that are thinking about marriage are supposed to be excited to spend the rest of their lives with the person that they love.....he is not eager because he is being forced to share his life with someone...
