Question:

Would a Michel Briere Pittsburgh Penguins jersey be a good idea?

I'm thinking about buying a Penguins jersey, but undecided on a player.

I plan on buying a vintage 1977 jersey, so I guess an older player would be a good idea.

I was thinking Michel Briere, even though he played from 1969-1970 and passed away shortly thereafter.

Would he be a good choice? Thanks.

  1. I personally wouldn't but that's just me being a stickler for the year of the jersey matching the player's name on the back. But it would be an awesome tribute to an unbelievable player who left this world way too early. It's up to you and I doubt anyone would fault you for the discrepancy considering most Pens fans nowadays don't even know who Michel Briere was...

  2. It's a good choice if you like it.

I for one wasn't born when Michel Briere was around, but I have watched many old games and he was an amazing player who's life ended WAY too son.

I would say yes, it's a good idea, but it's all up to you.

  3. A nice tribute, provided you know about his contributions to hockey as well as a human being in the Pittsburgh area. I personally am not one to wear things merely as a fashion statement. This is true Jacoby, but if one were to get a vintage Tim Horton jersey I would hope they're smart enough to wear it as a Leafs one. (and this coming from a Habs fan eh !!)

  4. I guess

Its like having a Tim Horton jersey except Horton was a better player HO caliber but I say go for it

  5. That sounds like a great idea to me, vintage is the best and it sounds like a tribute to a great player that was cut down way to soon. I like it, it shows a lot of class and vintage is always cooler.
