Would a Sony XM-2165GTX car audio 1000 watt amplifier work with my two 12 inch MTX MB212p Magnum subwoofers?

My friend sold me the subs and he said all I needed was a 1000 watt amp. Would this amp work for the subs?

  2. You should get an amp with at least 2000 watts rms..
