If ALL teamsters or truckers (NOT JUST A FEW) would stick together and go on strike over fuel prices do you think it would draw attention and help bring these prices down? Enough is enough.....

  1. Yes, I think so. As a professional driver I honestly feel such a unified stand would have a significant effect.

  2. no, truckers use diesel fuel not regular gas and their fuel prices are increasing for no reason, only beacause gas prices are...

  3. The strike is not about regular gas.  It is about diseal prices and the rates the drivers are getting.  The rates they are getting barely cover their fuel costs.  Owner Operators are supposed to maintain their truck, insure their truck, pay for food while on the road and fuel it.  Their fuel is almost taking up all of their pay leaving little left over.  Even big companies are feeling it and the rate they are paying their drivers are terrible.

If you make .30cpm and drive 2000 miles a week you are bringing in $600.  Then you have taxes taken out of that. So let's say $500 for a company driver.  Then if they offer heath insurance there goes another hundred.  Plus you are supposed to eat on the road, up and down sleep schedule and pay bills at home and so forth.  And it all stems down from fuel costs.

  4. If all the truckers stopped driving for a week, it would cripple our economy.  We need to build at least two more refinery's.  Gas prices are just catching up with what Europeans have to pay.  But you could always live in Iraq or Saudi and pay about 30 cents a gallon.

  5. umm no not really cuz ya wont be doing much
