Would a (Twilight) vampire eventually go bald as time went by?

this is a silly question, but i'm a silly person. we all know that hair falls out every day - a loss of like 100 hairs per day.

since vampires in the Twilight series never age or grow, meaning their hair doesn't grow, everything is stumped... would a vampire eventually go bald with hair constantly falling out every day? since hair wouldn't replace it. growth is stumped.

you know what i mean?

  1. Thats a really good question. Vampires do heal though when they are hurt by another powerful vampire so my guess is their hair continues to grow. Remember, you're hair keeps growing when you're dead anyway....

  2. The whole concept of vampirism is that the vampire sucks the blood, life, and youth out of the innocent victim and transfers it to his own self.

In Bram Stoker's "Dracula" the vampire was turning old and grey early in the novel, but then he sucked the blood and life out of an innocent

baby and regained his strength, youth, vigor, and hair.

So, no, vampires don't go bald, except when they can't get the blood.

Edit -- It's realy a pretty horrible concept, when you think about it.

  3. well I would say that the hair wouldn't fall out in the first place because only humans loose about 100 hairs a day...

Another reason don't think the hair would fall out would be that the roots of their hair would be like... welded to their head as the rest of their body's are extremely strong.

whoa I just realized I just put WAY too much thought into this lol :P

  4. they stay frozen in time so no there hair wouldn't. Stephenie said that there hair doesn't grow, they don't grow or anything

  5. that's a good question! The hair is probably stuck,  that's a good question! The hair is probably stuck, but  theoretically there simply must be changes as per their bodies and  looks. They are often compare to marble - say, a marble statue starts  dilapidating in about 80-100 years. Supposing vampires are more  resistant, and "made" from something 10 times as solid - then they  should start going seedy in 800-1000 years. They are made from matter  - and matter changes in time, does not matter how hard or solid that  matter is. So, maybe they will start having scratches on their  bodies, or holes, or something anyway.

  6. um, good question :)

I think vampire's bodies are like frozen in time, so all the hair that was on the head while they got bit stays there forever.

ha ha, imagine a bald Edward........or Rosalie  :D

  7. aren't they hard as stone?

  8. I wouldn't think so. If their skin and everything about them becomes strong and invincible, then their hair must be the same. It shouldn't fall out. But, if they cut it, it won't grow back.

  9. Hey,

Well the hair would probably keep growing but it would be awfully dry and disgusting and probably end up falling out because of the bad condition it's in, hope this helps :)
