  1. Possibly but an amazon is waaaay bigger than a budgie and can seriously hurt or kill a budgie, and it only takes a swipe of the beak. You would have to very closely monitor the situation at all times. I have a timneh grey and a blue and gold macaw and they get along, which is hard to fathom, but I monitored the situation very closely and still watch them when they are out together, since the macaw could really hurt the timneh, also the timneh could hurt the macaw too - bite her toes etc. You have to be very careful any time you put two of any type of birds together, even two budgies. Also you must quarantine a new bird for at least 30 days and make sure it is tested and in great health before introducing it into the same room with the bird you already have.

  2. My Amazon and my Budgies get along. My Parakeets follow my Amazon all over the place. Of course, if they are all out, then I am there to supervise so no injuries occur. I think each situation is different.

  3. Don't risk it.  Most likely they will not get along.

You can keep them in the same house, even room, but never let them come in contact.  The likeliest outcome is a dead parakeet (in the blink of an eye).  Amazons are more gregarious and very dangerous to budgies because of their size even if they don't intend on damaging the smaller bird.

Of course they couldn't be in the same cage because of territory issues and they need different bar spacing, and size of perches, toys and food.

My Amazon's first owner told me that my Amazon had killed other birds in the past.  He was putting them together in the same cage.  There's your problem!  Now I have other birds, and have even had budgies with no problems.. because I don't give my 'Zon the opportunity to hurt any of the others!

There's a small chance they will get along, I'm sure it's been done before, but don't count on it.  Don't even risk it.  It's your responsibility to keep your budgie alive!

  4. what i would do is get a 2 cages (of course the amazons will be bigger)and put them side to side.let them out every once and a while enterduce them to eachother.and if they do let them out a few hours a day let them get on eachothers cage and play.or put them on a play perch or something like that.i wouldnt put them together.both parrots can be tarratoriel if the parrakeet is it will want to bite the other and the amazon will most likely eat it.and if the amazon is terratorial....it will most likely kill it.....so let them get used to eachother if they like eachother let them play around on there cages for the day.but dont put them together.unless your 110% sure they like eachother.good luck with your parrots bye!
