  1. There isn't a way to retain what you have heard so you can listen to it again.

Also, baby moniters aren't all that high quality and there will be picked up lots of other radio frequences.

  2.   That's just in the movies. There are 2 drawbacks, a baby monitor is basically a radio, and as such ,may pick up stray signals from broadcast programs , also most evp is not heard "first person" but is only heard while playing  back  a recording. Although i have learned to never say never. Most reliable EVP has been captured using a tape or digital recorder.

  3. no it wouldn't be ...  evp appears on tape and is discovered after it is played back ..

  4. Baby monitors have neither the sensitivity nor range requirements for picking up audio that even inexpensive digital recorders have. Add into the mix the potential for static due to normal radio interference and the tendency for EMF fields to exist where a ghost is, and you have a recipe for not being able to pick up anything.

A decent digital recorder that works can be found several places online for under US$50 plus shipping.

  5. I have set up equipment in a residence and locked it up so no one could gain entrance for 1 hour.  I did use a baby monitor to listen for what might be going on in the house while we were sure no one was there, with good results.  But anything you get cannot be called an EVP because you were able to hear it naturally.

  6. No. An EVP is elctronic voice phenomenon. That means they are only voices you hear on an elctronic device. If you hear something our loud it is not an EVP because it knocks out the electronic part. (Ghost Hunters)

  7. Absolutely....there have been many a time when I was taking care of patience's, and I would hear them having conversations with relatives or friends long crossed over.I also have a friend who had to remove hers from her home.because she could still hear her mother crying an calling her.so If you hear something you are not ready for, don't ask questions you might not want to hear . so good luck on your new adventure, and enjoy they journey on your path to the paranormal world of enlightenment.   Blessed be............!

  8. No I wouldn't trust it because I used to pick up people talking from a cordless phone on my baby monitor, I later figure out it was my neighbors phone calls who I was picking up (I heard someone ask for her by name). Believe me I freaked out when I first heard these voices coming from it though, LOL.

  9. No because an EVP is recorded you can't hear it at the time but when you play back the tape you can. I don't think you can record on any baby monitors

  10. EVP is nothing more than static.

  11. Steve Gonsalves recommends it.  See SIFI Ghost Hunters he's their gadget guy.

  12. On my baby monitor I can pick up phone conversations from around my apartment buildings. Its kind of a guilty pleasure I indulge in. I feel bad for doing it but I can't resist myself when I pick one up. Therefore I don't think that it's reliable for what you are asking from it.

  13. No, a baby monitor would be hopeless. Their attention span is just too short. I would get an adolescent or fully adult one. They are more patient and understanding. But be carefull - they have a nasty bite; even the baby ones.

Oh! ... an EVP listener ... Sorry!
