Would a bad case of infratellar bursitis make the patellar tendon irritated?

So if you have infratellar bursitis, would the patellar tendon also be painful right up from below and then behind the knee because of the swelling of the bursa? Thanks!

  2. Yes, but the pain would be mainly because the patellar tendon is putting pressure on the bursa.  But the bursitis and swelling are plenty painful.

    The whole reason for a bursa there is to allow the tendon to glide smoothly.
