Would a battery powered Walkman work at Hogwarts?

Question

I have never found in any of the Harry Potter books one thru seven anything to say that it would not. If you know a factual answer, not opinion, please tell me which book, and chapter. Electrical items in general is my real question; cell phone, wrist watch (with batteries), nintendo game boy, etc. I have had several people tell me no stuff like this would not work but they have never been able to back their opinion with a page number from a Harry Potter book. : )

It might have been the 5th or 6th book that Hermione explained it. She says that electronic stuff like that doesn't work in Hogwarts, b/c the magic screws up all that elecricity thingys

She states pretty succinctly in there that batteries will not work at Hogwarts, but that items that require batteries have magical versions that work the same for convenience.

I'm afraid I cannot either, but I agree with you, that seeing as there is nothing in the books that would indicate that they wouldn't work, I think they would.

Whether the Slytherins wouldn't beat the living daylights out of you for having muggle stuff on you, however, is another matter.
