Would a beard make me look older?

im 20 years old (male) and unfortunately i look younger than my age so im growing a beard in an effort to counter it

yes but don't do a beard. that looks mountain man. try a goatee or flava sava. that way you look older but not like old man. its more attractive without it being a forest

I ran into the same problem.  I am a babyface like yourself, and I actually got thrown out of my first college party because they wouldn't believe I was in college.  The frat guy hosting the party said, hey you gotta leave-we can't have high school kids here.  So I grew a goatee after that (hey it was cool in the late 90's) and didn't run into problems.  Right now the look for college guys is the shaggy hair with a charles manson beard. Totally scraggly.  You shouldn't run into problems and plus the ladies love it.
