Would a bottle of supermarket wine from 1976 be OK to drink

I had a lady round in 1976 and didn't need to open the wine as she was up for it right away. Now I am having a 2nd lady round and hope to get lucky with her as well. If I still don't need to open the wine how long can I keep it in case a 3rd lady comes round?

  1. It is probably not very good anymore. Buy a new bottle and open it this time.

And I hope you get some...

  2. WAit, you haven't been laid since 1976????

ANd I thought I was on a dry spell      lol

  3. It would be perfectly fine. I mean people who can afford 200 year old bottles buy them for a reason. Like the saying goes wine only gets better with age.

  4. Let me get this straight, you had a "lady" round in 76, 32 years ago.  You're now having a second "lady" round now.  And you have hopes that a 3rd might come around  at some point.  What's the point of the question.  I'm sure she'll be up for it, and you can save that bottle for another 32 years.  As for the taste, it'll be undrinkable but that's neither here nor there.  I'm just trying to get my mind wrapped around the concept of 1 in 76 and a 2nd 32 years later.  Back to the wine, no you will not be able to drink.  It will be colored orange, your stomach will turn and you vomit it back up, should you actually be able to swallow.  Get her some vodka or whiskey instead.

  5. Don't believe any of the above.  Wine can keep well for a  hundred years, if it hasn't been opened and the cork kept wet.  Some of the mose expensive and best wines are decades old.  Besides, 1976 was a good year for wine.  Enjoy.

  6. Haha Last of the summer wine

  7. Do not drink that wine!

Go out and buy another bottle for pete's sake!

Sure, all wine is aged, but it's aged in very specific ways which keep it from becoming undrinkable. When wine's left just out somewhere it generally gets pretty nasty. Often you get a lot of sediment on the bottom and the cork often dries out which lets air in which turns the wine to vinegar.

    Good luck with that girl!

  8. very unlikely

  9. It won't hurt you.

it might taste like c**p, or have turned to vinegar, especially if it was never opened, its likely safe.

  10. No, it wouldn't be good after all this time.  And if you buy wine only to get laid, you're a pig.
