Would a bouquet of beaded flowers look good?

I'm not too keen on having real flowers in my wedding bouquet. And from what I've heard, to get quality silk flowers, you'll be spending as much as you would on fresh flowers. So I just came up with the idea of making beaded flowers, like the one shown in the photobucket link, for my bouquet, maids' bouquets and the corsages. What are your thoughts?

My bouquet will have pink stargazer lilies and white cala lilies, and the maids' bouquets will have cala lilies. Each bouquets will be tied with a blue ribbon that matches the bridesmaids' dresses.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not so keen on it. But it's not my wedding- it's yours.

If you want to cut costs on flowers, how about having your bridesmaids just carry a single flower such as a cala lily tied with a ribbon. It would cost less than buying whole bouquets and you could go for the silk variety if you're not keen on having real.

Holy c**p. If you want to take the time to make those, I think they look great. They seem that they would be crazy hard to make, though.

Depends on the style of the wedding and how much they cost to make (don't forget to figure in the time it takes). I'm a wedding florist, so I may be biased, but I think the real deal is best! In the case of callas and lilies, the silks are almost certainly cheaper than the fresh. (Those are both on the pricey end of the fresh flower spectrum). Personally, I think the silk flowers would look much nicer than the beaded ones and the silks these days are nearly indistinguishable from fresh. Those are my thoughts. Your flower choices sound lovely, by the way!

I have to say my first thought, was 'ew, no' but when I looked at the photo, and pictured the flowers you want to have, I liked the idea.  It's creative and unique and I think it will make your wedding stand out.  Good luck, and congrats on the wedding!

I am for what ever the bride would like. And what you are wanting is gorgeous. I had never seen that. It really would be different. I know here in the area I live it has never been used. Just a wonderful ideal. Congratulations and good luck.

It's your wedding so do what you like. You have obviously put a lot of thought into an original type of bouquet that is not often seen carried by most brides. Forget what other peoples opinions are and please yourself as I mentioned before, It's your special day enjoy it to the fullest.Good Luck on the day I hope it's everything you want it to be and more.
