Final Fantasy 7's protagonist Cloud Strife was induced with Jenova Cells to the point of Mako poisoning prior to the original game's storyline. These cells allowed for him to be manipulated by Sephiroth at different points and caused him severe problems when he suffered from Geostigma in the CGI film Advent Children. Three people were offsprings of those infected with Jenova cells, but they were introduced to the cells through either an outside source, such as Genesis being born of Gillian Hewley's graphed DNA, or Sephiroth with the cells implanted directly into him while in Lucrecia's womb.

The Jenova cells are integrated to Cloud's genetic structure, similar to Gillian Hewley in Crisis Core whom beared her own child Angeal. But that was in a woman and it was never discussed what if a man with Jenova cells sired a child with a woman whom had none.

Would an offspring of Cloud's be doomed just as Angeal was? The cells can manipulate the thoughts of one whom carries them, but just the same it's possible to overcome the cells' influence, so even if the child did exhibit the cells he/she could live a normal life...to some extent. Right?

  1. I believe that the child would be doomed to have the Jenovas in its DNA, as we know that Cloud was injected with them. The cells seem to have a very strong hold on him, making him very easily manipulated by Sephiroth, who we also know is a carrier of the Jenova cell.

We see in Advent Children that the cells are just as strong, since he is effected when  Kadaj goes down on knee in front of the President.

Now, I do not know if Square-Enix will have the cells rid from Clouds body after he was cured of Geostigma through Aeris' Healing Rain, but it is very doubtful.
