  1. I am female and if I tell my guy, "Go mow the lawn", he won't do it. If I say, "Oh, I saw the guy next door today, he was mowing the lawn" then the lawn gets mowed. I think that early women knew this also. You should read a book called, "The Myth of Male Power" written in the 90's.

  2. No.

  3. I don't think it would be any different then it is today.  We are the way we are today because of the natural strengths and weaknesses of both of the sexes.  There are many scientist who believe that many of the ancient society's were Matriarchal and not Patriarchal.  You can read about them all over just Google "Ancient Matriarchal Societies"

Also, although not always true, the phrases "if momma ain't happy, ain't no body happy!" and "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world" are quite often...true.

  4. What the heck are you implying here?

  5. Competition is what keeps me alive, wandering the sewers by night, playing Pokemon Red by day.

  6. No.    Read the works of Robert Graves, particularly the 2 volume Greek Myths.

If was even close, not a pretty picture for men.

  7. Maybe, but we do not know for sures!

  8. In all fairness Boudicca was raped by Roman soldiers, and was resisting an occupying force.  So Rome declared war on her, not the other way around.

The simple fact is that without aggression and competition, humanity wouldn't have been in a position to form civilisation in the first place.

Men and women are equally as aggressive, competitive and prone to prejudice.   These are human traits, not male traits.

  9. Women would never create a civilisation in the first place, if left to their own devices. Their energies would be directed to gathering food, building adequate shelters, raising their children, and maintenance of social relationships.

Men are more goal oriented, and territorially aggressive. This leads to war, and the development of superior weaponry, and technology, which may then be applied to civil use. Males build civilisation, but females are the fabric maintaining society. More blurring of gender roles is occurring, but I am not sure whether this is ultimately beneficial.

  10. 1. Prove that civilization was founded by men.

    2. You are taking stereotypical traits of women that exist today and attempting to apply them to all women of many different time periods. I'm not sure why you think women are less capable of maintaining a society than men. I can't think of a bit of evidence supporting the view that women are less inherently competitive than men.

Here's something you can do. Go find a female District Attorney (they are quite common, you shouldn't have any trouble), and then go tell her your theory, that women care less about justice than about feeling good. Explain to her that if women took over the justice system, it would stagnate. Then, come back and tell us how many teeth you have left.

  11. Yes. . . Seriously, yes to both.  It wouldn't be inherently better, just different.  So just a different balance of good and bad.

  12. Not automatically...but I tend to think, it would.

  13. Founding a civilization ? I don't know , But preserving and enhance it , YES.

History tells us of many peace-full civilizations preserved by queens,e.g.  the queen of SHEBA, & the Queen of Tadmur.  As a head of state, she may take the right decision, but the mentality of her (male) generals, may fail her.

    MrsTatcher, the X P M of U.K.,  is a modern example .

Elizabeth I , may be a better example.

  14. Noname, how many different ways are you going to ask this question? I am curious about your motive in asking this repetitively in different forms.

  15. If it was a long time ago, I think they would have been peaceful, more egalitarian and less competitive, and subsequently crushed by their patriarchal neighbours.  =)

In modern times on the other hand...

  16. There are good and bad people everywhere, regardless of s*x. Seeing all men or all women as good or bad does not make sense. Good civilizations and good laws, are created by informed, moral, and intelligent people--whether male or female.

  17. I doubt they would have been more peaceful. There have been somewhat more 'equal' societies in the past, and their female rulers were just as war-like as the male (think Boudicca.)
