  1. It is not the cold front that pushes the hurricane!  It is the upper level wind pattern associated with the fronts.  Sometimes these patterns are weak and provide absolutely no steering for the hurricane.  Sometimes they are strong and backed by the jetstream.  This creates allot of steering and can affect a hurricane's path.

Again, a front does not make a hurricane do anything.

  2. Any type of front will be able to push a hurricane back out to see, or it if it's a backdoor front, it can actually push a hurricane back onto land. Hurricanes can not steer themlves. Winds are usually what push hurricanes around, and fronts, high and other low pressure systems can easily have an influence of where a hurricane will go.

  3. It has happened several times. Here in New England we were spared several times from a hurricane or tropical storm because of a cold front from Canada

  4. yes it can.. but by using HARP and scalar magnetic energy hurricanes can in fact be turned in any direction..  there is also technology available to difuse a hurricane... all the information is available in "weather wars and other unnatural disasters" by Steven Quayle... a must read for this question .. there are even registered patents
