Would a corpse at room temperature look any different if it had been laying on the floor 3 years vs 8 years?

8 years is alot longer then 3... but 3 is relatively still forever. Say the body was at 72 degrees with moderate humidity and the house undisturbed body undiscovered for either 3 years or 8 years... what would be the difference in condition of the body and the condition of the house for each period of time?

Hmm. Unless it's in a sealed room, flies will get to it and the maggots will eat all the flesh in pretty short order. Won't make any difference if it's 3 years or 8. The flesh would be gone within months.

You could always try it with a piece of pork. Make sure it's got some bones.

The body would be down to a skeletal base in 8 years. In 3 years, depending on the bacteria in the area, the body would be severely decomposed but there may still be some soft tissue left.
