Would a formal shirt look well with jeans?

Well, I'm a 19 yr old teenager and I was wondering how a black formal shirt with thin vertical silver lines would look if I tucked it into my jeans? The belt is not formal of course, it is a cream coloured one with a sack-like feel.

BTW, I wear my jeans somewhat low, but not actually below the waist.

And top two shirt buttons left unbuttoned of course.

it would look nice if the jeans are a dark wash, and not too loose.

That sounds like it would go together nice.  Although I would pick my belt according to the shoes I was wearing.  If your wearing cream colored shoes that would be ok, but I assume you'll be wearing black shoes so you could use like a silver belt to bring out the pinstripes or a simple black belt.

Perhaps leaving the shirt un-tucked and wearing a slightly formal shoe would hit the correct level of casual sophistication?
