  1. I really doubt it, maybe the other way around though, depending on the loach. What kind of loach is it? Generally, most loaches are bottom dwellers. Some like to burrow in the substrate, so don't get huge coarse gravel as that will make this much more difficult. Depending on what kind of loach, they will eat various things.

  2. Chinese Algae Eaters are not Loaches.  What kind of Loach are you thinking of?  The chances of a Goldfish of any size catching, let alone eating, any species of Loach are VERY low.  That said, there really are VERY few species of Loaches you would want to keep with a Goldfish.  Goldfish require cool water, while most Loaches are tropical, with Weather/Dojo Loaches being the only common coldwater Loaches.  The chances of the Goldfish eating them are low-- poisoning them with its waste (ammonia)  is much more likely.

  3. hi,i have 2 all weather loaches living with my goldfish so you have no worries, the loaches were very curious of the goldfish for a bit but that was it,they live very happily together, loaches do like things to go in,under etc, just make sure whatever you put in is safe for the goldfish because they will try to follow the loaches, and insure the lid of your tank is secure as loaches do jump from the water, sit on top of filters and get up to all sorts of mischief, enjoy.oh and no special requirements with theses loaches, just look after as you would and feed flakes as your goldfish, they and the goldfish also like bloodworms and daphnia on occasions.do check what kind of loach you are getting as someone roghtly said there are very few cold water loaches that i know of.

  4. Well since loaches are long they could probably swim away in time. They are also fast.

To take care of the loach buy some driftwood or something for them to hide. YOu don't really have to look after them.

  5. When you are talking about a goldfish I assume the loach you are referring to is a sucking loach, also called a Chinese Algae Eater and you are worried because it is only about an inch long.

It will grow, as babies they eat algae, as they get older they start to eat meatier foods and when it is full grown it will be more likely to eat the goldfish.

Edit: Chinese Algae Eater - Common name - Sucking Loach :0)

  6. It depends on the kind of loach.  Clown loaches, no.  Kuhlis, yo-yos and similar, if they can catch them.
