I'm going to a local community college in pa. I recently found out that my school had my cost of attendance calculated with me being part-time. I have just had them change me back to full-time. Now my cost of attendance has changed from 5700 to 12,000. The thing is they have already awarded me 5650 in grants and loans. I am a independent student and i want to know if this will give me more money from my grant and my loan. Btw i only made 11,000 last year from my job. 1. Yes, a change in enrollment status from part time to full time will change the amount of money you are able receive quite a bit.  Borrow and your Pell grant amount (if you got it to begin with).

Full time independent freshman can borrow up to 7,500 per year in stafford loans usually.  More the more hours you have.
