Would a large amount of u.s. dollars be detected by a metal detector at an airport?

We are transferring 80 grand physically from Argentina to the United states and we are worried with any security questioning or wondering when we go through a metal detector...

  2. Bad Idea.

    They can confiscate the money if they find it.

    I never bring more than $9500 at a time from europe, so it cant get confiscated.

    That much money you cant hide in your underwear.

  3. Bad idea and it's illegal. Besides the US does not want those worthless paper dollars back.

  4. Uhh which airport and what time will you be arriving at which gate?  

  5. It can be detected. I have a friend who's parents did not declare a large sum of cash and it was detected. Find some mules to swallow the money or simply walk across the unguarded Mexican border.
