  1. Hey,

Betta's are extremely hardy fish and can tolerate most water.  They are nicknamed the Puddle Fish as they originally live in mud puddles in crop fields no deeper than 2-3 inches.  Bizarre but true.  Bettas do need light, all fish need light.  I have my lights on for about 12 hours a day, and i have them on timers so not to overfeed on light or underfeed.

So in response to your q.  Your totally cool to have your light on and if it heats the water up your fish will be completely fine.

    Betta Fisher Breeder :-)

  2. No but try to get a mini fluorescent light. They dont heat up too much.

  3. I suggest dont get a heater for your betta and get the light the light will heat up the water but not too much so itll b3e better than having a heater that looks ugly at the back of your tank or a pretty light lighting up the tank

  5. It won't but Betta's are a type of fish that don't like a lot light on them so it will stress them out.
