Would a low cost flight be cheaper or more expensive the later I book it?

I have to get a flight from glasgow to birmingham in a couple of weeks time. At the moment its still quite expensive for a low cost flight. Will it get cheaper or more expensive the longer I leave it? I'm getting a follow on flight to spain so I simply cannot miss that flight!

The earlier the better, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the cheapest day to fly.

Book 6 months before, it then gets dearer, then at the last minute you may get it rock bottom butn its the luck of the draw.

especially with feul prices rocketing.

My friends a travel agent and says flights/packages should be booked 4 weeks before when there is no extra charges so are at their cheapest.
