I'm thinking about getting a smaller bird to keep my macaw company while I am at work, but I don't want to get a smaller bird who will be terrified of my macaw all the time. Can they coexist in the same room in seperate cages?

  1. aks the pet store, and i hear that some peole get parakets to put in a seperate cage so the big bird doesn't feel alone, I have 3 in seperate cages, a cockatoo the umbrella, a congo african grey and a cockatiel... if u can put the cage where ur bird can see out, and leave the radio on it helps so much,, join a yahoo group for parrotts,, also remember that Macaws can't stand dander like other birds can, so  be careful of that when u are chossing another bird.

  2. I would not get a companion bird that small for a macaw.
