Would flooding in New Orleans help either presidential candidate?

If the levees failed again would either candidate benefit from it?

Could a poorly managed emergency hurt the GOP ?

  1. No, its about time common sense prevailed and New Orleans was left to mother nature, or given back to the french. To much money is being spent on a historically corrupt city.

  2. It gave McPOW the perfect distraction to release the news of the teenage pregnancy and forced Bush and Cheney to cancel.

I'd say McPOW is doing jumping jacks right about now.

    Well, trying anyway.

  3. I would guess that if some levees broke in New Orleans, it would be a reminder of the programs involved with Katrina ... and would give the Democrats a slight boost. McCain wouldn't take a major hit because he wasn't in the office at the time.

Since everything seems relatively OK as of Monday night, it probably won't come up.

  4. A poorly managed emergency could only further hurt the Republicans. However, Gustav could take the attention off the Republican Convention and even give the Republicans an excuse to not even have Bush or Cheney even appear at the convention. This would be helpful to the Republicans. It would draw the attention away from the miserable shape of the Republican Party and the current administration.

  5. Yep...it helps McCain..

    and George Bush

Why? Cause Dems can't use Katrina anymore...

    btw..I'm a Dem...but I'm an honest Dem

  6. Katrina was an engineering disaster not a natural one and the Army Corps of engineers which originally made the levees long before Bush came into office are to blame. Don't blame Bush for everything, it's getting old and it's been dishonest. They lucked out big time as they are is worse shape than in 2005.

I think it was in good taste for McCain to hold back the start on the RNC.
