Would a moving company have a minimum load amount or could you ship 1 piece of furniture 2000 miles (bed)?

  1. you will have to check around - some moving company charge by weight/load. some by space.  i just moved a few mnths ago and remember finding some companies who charge by cubic foot...basically they try to fit several shipment into a truck and each is seperated by a divider and whatever space you use you will be charged.  maybe you can find something like that in your area. good luck!


  2. My parents are antique dealers and sell furniture on eBay sometimes.  They've shipped furniture several times.

  3. Call around and ask.  There are all different rate plans.  Diesel prices what they are, it may get pricey if it cannot be combined with another load going to the same destination.

    Also, check air freight.  If you can take it to the nearest airport, DHL will take individual's shipments and fly it to the destimation city for a lot less than trucking it.  You package it up though and someone has to retrive it at the other end.
