Could I get my physical earlier this year without any problems with it being paid by the new health insurer?

  1. They can check payouts, so yes.

But if you're changing insurers, it might not matter.  Everything might reset, with the new company.  You'll have to ask them.

  2. If you have changed employers and have new insurance, then there are no hard and fast timelines for your physical. Go get it whenever you're ready. If you have the same employer and have just had an internal change of companies, then you need to know if your new insurer picked up the records from the old company. This is highly unlikely, since they usually only pull info like lifetime maximums, pre-x, etc.

Just make sure you didn't have any breaks in coverage, and you should be fine.

  3. Yes! Insurance companies exchange information. There is a central office where all the medical records go electronically and the health insurances have access to this files whenever they want.

  4. the first answer is correct. they dont check and they dont care. it would be more cost effective for them to just pay the claim than spend all that manpower on checking your past claims. you will be fine.

  5. Not only will your new insurer not know, they won't care.  Your new insurance will only pay for one per year and since they haven't paid for any yet, you can start any time your dear old heart desires.
