I want to buy Particle Illusion 3, but it says that requires Windows XP, and does not says anything about Windows Vista. Should I buy it? Is there a way to convert XP programs so that they would work using Vista?

  1. it should work, most programs for XP will work with Vista

  2. Most programs that run on XP should run fine on Vista. You can't "convert" programs, but you can run them in a compatibility mode. To run a program in compatibility mode, just right-click it or it's shortcut, select "Properties", go to the Compatibility tab, and select "Windows XP."

  3. windows vista is newer system which therefore has compatibility with all windows xp operating systems, even windows 2000.. it should work fine, but remember if it says requires vista and you try on xp it wont work.

once you install, if it doesnt work, right click icon and go to where it says run in compatibilty for: and select windows.

and if it doesnt work after that make sure you check run as administrator because some programs require it.
