Is it possible to diagnose yourself if you're mentally ill?

  1. i think you would know something's wrong, but making a correct diagnosis.. I kind of doubt that you'd get it right.


  2. As far as I know, no. Madness doesn't just appear out of the blue, it develops over time. For example you could start contradicting with more and more people, until you are about the only one that believes your claims. Madmen, for this reason, might think the rest of us are actually nuts, or that we are mentally inferior to them, etc.    

  3. People who believe they are crazy usually aren't.  

  4. generally, psychologists say that doesn't happen.

    But it would be interesting to see if , say  a schizophrenic might MIS- diagnose themselves as having OCD.

    (of course, OCD isn't exactly crazy , but i  hope you know what i am trying to say)

  5. most crazy people are to crazy to realize they are not normal. so

    if you can diagnose yourself with a mental illness you are not mentally

    ill, but you might have a slight psychological problem.
