In view of the fact that there are four seaports equipped to handle roll on/roll off (RORO) cargo on Bohol, plus the various tourist attractions on this, the tenth largest island in the archipelago, would it be beneficial and/or desirable to plan and construct a railway network that would support the tourism industry and the seaports on this island?

  1. A very interesting idea... I'm MOST familiar with Mindanao, but looking at maps and satellite photos of Bohol, it's intruiging.  A coastal railway would make sense... paralleling the highway.  I'd like to find topographical maps... to see if interior penetraction is possible/ practicable.

NEXT, you'd have to look at the amount of good you'd be transporting... building a Intermodal loading facility at those RORO ports, and offloading facilities at the coastal towns.

WOULD adding a small passenger car or two to the train be viable ??  Much more comfortable than a Jeepney or Trike !!

I look forward to seeing MORE ideas.  GOOD LUCK
