Yesterday one of my rats died :( I know I need to spend more time with the other rat now, but in 20 days I'm going on camp for about 8-9 days. Now my brother has two rabbits in his room and I have been wondering this before but now a little more and my mother asked too. Could the rat and the rabbits be 'friends' or be ok if I would put my rat in my brothers rabbit cage for the days I am going on camp? And would it be a good idea if I tried this out a cupple of days before I go, like maybe 3-5 days before I go in the morning and see how things go?

  1. No!!!

  2. NO!!!  DON'T DO IT!!  That rat will be dead when you get back.  I'm sorry, but they can't stay together.  They're totally different animals!  Just see if your brother can take care of your rat when you're gone!!

  3. Depends if they are male and a female rabbits the rat might want to join in on the bonking. This will make your rat feel small and insignificant as he is left in the cold and your rat will consider commiting suicide due to lack of attention.

  4. i dont think you sould cuz i think the rat may start to fight with the rabbits or something.

  5. i wouldnt do that, they would fight.

  6. NO NO NO, bad idea i did that with a guinea pig and rabbit, the next morinig my guinea pig had bite marks all over her ears.......Just buy a new rat...

  7. ever hear of rattbits??

  8. No! Don`t do it!

  9. I don't think so. They have different characters and may fight/bite.

  10. nope not a good idea!!

  11. No, for a whole lot of reasons.  A rat can, and will, bite a rabbit.  This can cause serious harm.  Rabbits can kick and trample a rat and injure the rat.

Also, they have vastly different diets.  Your rat eats foods that rabbits can't without having health problems.  Your rat would not be impressed if he was only left with hay and rabbit pellets to eat.

It's never a good idea to mix species in a cage.  Rats belong with their own kind.  Just have your family members spend time with the rat while you are gone, it's safer for all concerned.

  12. NO. NO. NO. NO.

Rats will BITE rabbits because they feel scared by them. The rabbits will kick out against a stranger in their cage. THEY WILL DIE.

    My god.

Rats and rabbits do not go well together. They injur and kill each other and can also transmit various diseases to each other.

  13. NO! Don't do that!  They'll most likely kill each other.  The rabbits might be okay, but don't add the rat...

  14. no...trust me :(

  15. i dont think that would be a very good idea, you would be better of buying another rat,as your other rat will be very depressed, and it might also die without having any company, hope i have helped you
