Question:

Would a refrigerator stop working due to change in altitude?

I moved a brand new Frigidaire Gallery (not a side by side) from 5600 ft to about 2800 ft. There was nothing wrong with it before... Now I can hear a fan but it's not cooling. It did not drop or not laid down. Any ideas?

Thanks

  1. no

it's a sealed unit and the contents are isolated from outside pressures

  2. Altitude no, but movement yes. Even when a fridge or freezer is delivered brand new, you're not supposed to turn it on for 24 hours as the gas inside gets all shook up!

Two options, leave it off for 24 hours then try again, but most likely answer (and don't laugh) turn it upside down for a few hours then turn it back for a few hours more.
