Would a short working holiday in France ruin my right to ILR in the UK?

I am a NZ citizen on a UK ancestry visa - I have been here for 31/2 years and know I need to stay 5 in order to get ILR. However, what would happen if I lived and worked in France for 3 months during that period - would I forgoe my rights to ILR or would it merely extend the period until I could apply for this? I need a break from the UK but don't want to blow my chances!

  1. speak to your embassy for advice.

  2. i think it's no more than 350 days for the whole 5 years, and no more than 90 days before you apply (out of the country).

  3. in order to work in France, do you have a work visa? if not, it is illegal to do so without it........since you are not yet in the EU, not an UK citizen yet.......
