A question on whether any sturdy shelter, like an air-raid shelter, a bomb shelter, a blast shelter and a subway station that's used as a shelter, can be used for any disaster, especially an apocalypse.

  1. Define "apocalypse" please. Because shelters can protect you from most disasters, but not all.

  2. Remember those education videos they used to show kids in the 50's, just "duck and cover", you'll be all right.

  3. There have been disaters in which the air has been sucked out of underground places due to bombing. People cannot get out and suffocate. Subways might be destroyed or at least acces cut off. These are WW2 type measures.

Now to look at a marvel of engineering take a look at the one built under Cheyenne Mountain during The Cold War to withstand a nuclear attack. So yes but the sad thing is only The President his staff and The Military would survive an attack as it was built for them not us ordinary citizens. Then there would be radiation and sterlization as a result. Doom scenario. Not an Air Raid Station so much more.

  4. I'm sure it would with stand it, but what would it matter? If it was sturdy enough or not?I think in that instance I would wondering about more important things like when you die, and you very well may, where are you going? And I might worry about my family if they are close to me,things  like that, but  I wouldn't worry about where I would be going because I know, do you? As far as the  shelters are concerned it might and then again it might not!
