This is a serious question. Someone told me that because the pressure is so well spread out on a tank, if one of it's caterpillar tracks rolled over my foot, it would not crush it

A tank would not break your foot if it rolled over it. This is because it has such a great surface area that the pressure is equally distributed when it travels. Technically a ballet dancer standing on her toes on your foot would cause more damage!
