Would a taste of austerity in the future predicted recession be good for the nations health.?

Thinking along the lines of less car usage and simpler healthier cooking.For example people not driving right up to bank machines and post boxes because they are to lazy to walk.

  2. Well, walking more would help, but it wouldn't change the diet; people manage to eat badly even on a good income!

    The problem with our national diet is not that people can't afford enough to eat but that they choose to eat the wrong things.

  4. This would of course be of benefit, but the PC brigade would put up some objection, saying it's a breach of human rights!
