  1. Yes, when you become a teacher it doesnt really matter what college you went to... so save some money!!!

  2. In the public school system, it does not matter where you went to school when it comes to how much money you made.  It may, however, make a difference when it comes to looking for a job.  For instance the Ivy League teacher may be able to get a job at a better paying district than the teacher who started off in a community college (though they cannot get certified to teach with just a 2 year degree, so they would have to have finished at another school to get their Bachelor degree).

  3. If the teacher from the Ivy League school and the teacher from the community college are teaching in the same school district- then the answer would be yes.  The teachers would both start out at the same pay.  Pay for teachers increases only by experience (i.e. years of teaching, etc.).  The only difference is that the teacher who went to community college will spend a lot less of their income paying back student loans.

I guess the only variation in income would depend on the state/city the teacher works in and if it is a public or private school.

  4. Just so people know, there are a lot of teachers who went to ivy league schools, and they do make the same amount of money. Of course it looks better on a resume, but once you both have the job, everything else disappears. Just as a side note, I know a lot of ivy league people who make less than teachers... which means they make less than most people. In the world of 7,000 universities, ivy league schools have lost a lot of their exclusivity.

  5. I don't know of a teacher who went to an ivy league but still. I believe that teachers are unionized are get the same starting salary at the same school. However, going to an ivy league may get the teacher more likely to be hired or hired at a better school or an area that pays more

  6. you cant teach with an associates degree - so the CC teacher must have transfered to a 4 year college. Both the Cc teacher and the ivy league teacher must have their BA, and a credential on top of that.

Yes, they would both start out at the same spot on the salary scale.
