if I were to get one?

That is any kind of job, as in retail, child care, receptionist or anything like that. OR what about a tattoo? Well thing is I am 35 and never had any of these and just would like to get one of them before I die. Just a thing with me. Been thinking about it for a while.

  1. Unfortunately, no matter where you work, despite popularity and variety, tattoos and piercings are not going to be excepted.  So if you are considering getting either and going for a job, get the piercings in time for them to be healed by the interview date.  That way, you can remove them before hand and have no worries.  As far as the tattoo goes, I suggest getting that in a place that can be easily covered up so it can be hidden.  Just like the piercing, get that in time for it to heal before the interview because while it is healing, it can not be covered.  So you can still get tattoos and piercings, you just have to be careful about where and when you get them

  2. If its airlines or hotels, piercing or tatooing is NOT ALLOWED. If its not a frontn end job say like u are not in customers contact directly then its fine.

  3. For the types of jobs you mentioned a nose or tuong ring would probally be ok. Some employers however not want to hire someone who has face piercings. It may be harder for you to get hired but it won't stop you from finding a job.

  4. it depends on where you plan to apply. most corporate type environments frown on nose rings and showing tatts.

  5. By law you can not be discriminated against but you will be. In my experience employees who had facial piercings were asked to remove it during their shift. Hair color had to be natural and tattoos preferably covered by clothing (no neck, face tatts). Here's a suggestion, why not get a fake tattoo or piercing and see what the reaction is. Don't tell anyone and get one of those magnet nose rings. Good luck!

P.S. you can always get a job as a tatoo artist and they don't care what you lool like!

  6. i have a lip ring and i never had any troubles... but probably in retail/customer service yes

tattoos not so much as long as they are in places you can cover

    tongue ring... definitely not

i'd go for a nose ring, a tiny one :)

  7. I work at Macy's as a sales associate and worked as a receptionist at a salon for 3 years. I have a nose piercing and a lip ring. No one has ever told me that I couldn't have those piercings and I would have taken them out if they requested it but they didn't. Different jobs have different standards but most people are pretty accepting nowadays. Companies want diversity. If they have a problem with it, they'll tell you. If they don't want to hire you because of piercings, they'll tell you...or you can tell them that if it's a problem then you'll take it out.
