  1. No, unless you're indecently rich!  Vans -- depending on engine size, age and model -- range in gas economy from as little as 7 miles to a gallon of gas to about 15 miles per gallon.  A well-maintained smaller car can get as much as 35 miles to the gallon of gas!

A small, high-efficiency car would be the best way to go, not to mention that all of the upkeep on a car is WAY less than a van (Example: car tires=$25-$30 each....van tires=$50-$150 each).

  2. No, i wouldn't go for that, esp with the price of gas.

Its going to be a gas guzzler and for a first car, no... its just you, why have something bigger than what you need....

For a first car, i would go with a honda civic or a toyota corolla or nissan sentra... even an aveo or yaris... that would be your best bet.

They are all good on gas and easy to maintain, plus they are reliable and durable....

    good luck

  3. only if it's Honda Odyssey or a Toyota Sienna

the popular Dodge & Chrysler vans are not reliable.

  4. Not unless you have little kids you have to drive around. If it is just for you i would say a small car. With the way gas prices are you should stay away from vans and big vehicles for your first car
