  1. yes

  2. Price never scares me off. But, I'd want references, as with any DJ. I'd also want personal testimonies and a long list of events he's done in the past. I would also want a sample of his work as far as set list, intros, flow, etc. I'd pretty much treat him like all the other DJs. I actually interviewed from $200 to $1500 for our wedding.

Side note: we got a $700 DJ, not the $1500 one. He had all kinds of cool equipment though lol!

  3. No, but those bug eyes would scare me instantly.  LOL

  4. Definately. Sounds too good to be true. I probably wouldn't even check into it.

  5. it depends on what all you offer but i dont think it scares me off, just would like references and possible a contract.

  6. No.

It might be a kid just starting out.

I know some high school boys that are great DJs.  They are cheap too, but they are excited about earning a whole $275.

  7. I would be leary....I would be afraid of what I was getting. The music for a wedding is very important and so is the wedding reception as a whole the last thing I would want to do is go with too cheap of a DJ and ruin the fun.

  8. Hi,

this is Sophie and I am a wedding planner.

There are many different prices it depends of the location, of the experience of the DJ, of the equipment of the DJ and of the time in the wedding industry.

    Here is what you do:

Ask him when he is working on an other wedding and go an visit. If he is OK and you like it, hire him.

I am a wedding planner and I am planning in 2 locations. I just opened an office location in S. Florida, and down there, I offer my services about half the price than it would be in N. Florida. That is a common thing to do if you would like to break in to the business world. Good luck to you!

  9. Nope. You want to travel to Mass ? lol

I think that most people won't be scared off as long as you can provide references and act in a professional manner when you're dealing with them.

  10. Hey if you can give references then

    stay cheap!

    Referrals are good advertising

  11. If he is a student no, I wouldn't be scared. If he is an adult with lots of experience I would expect him to be charging at least double.

  12. Price doesn't scare me off. I would have a test run to see if I would like the DJ, and the atmosphere he would provide.

He could be just starting out, so don't ax him yet.

  13. Oh yeah...that would scare me off.

My DJ was $700 for four hours (Portsmouth, NH).

  14. I would get call other people who have used him also.

Let's be honest here central ohio isnt LA.I can see where it could be quite costly.I would give him a try.,I'm sure if he is that bad you can always find someone in the audience to sing a few tunes.

A lot of the guys who do that it isnt their fulltime job. Most are radio DJS etc.

I use to know a guy who worked in Parkersburg, wva who had that business.

  15. I am from Ohio but I think first I would want to come to one of your gigs to make sure you are what I am looking for and then if I liked you yes I feel that is a real good price I have priced DJ's and bands and your are far the cheapest!! e-mail me I would be very interested in coming listen to you, you may have a job next July!!

  16. I'd not be scared off by the price, but I'd want to see how he does his shows before I hired him.  I don't think karaoke has a place at a wedding, though.

  17. I would be weary about it, but if there were references, video samples and sat down and discussed the wedding and that all seemed ok then I would go with it!  Just remember, the dj is what really makes or breaks ther reception - also, the dj helps with making the flow of the reception go smoothly.
