Every year the town in which I live based in the UK plays host to a free airshow where many different types of planes are flown in formation.

Today the weather is both windy and raining too and I doubt whether this will clear up for later today would this affect the Airshow as a whole (bearing in mind if those who turned up wore warm clothing and umbrellas) but would aircraft be permitted to fly in such weather at such a low altitude?

  1. Low cloud, rain , fog and the number one that is bad for air shows is lightning.

  2. Happens in baseball too. Pisses me off

  3. Visibility and wind shear almost always are the reasons for cancellation

  4. It's rare for an air display to be completely cancelled due to bad weather. The performing aircraft have different maneuvers for all conditions, although it can be frustrating seeing 'planes disappear into low cloud.

Having attended the Royal International air tattoo at RAF Fairford and Cottesmore for the past ten years, these have never been cancelled.

I've also visited Cosford,Southport,Woodford and others where the show has gone on,why not 'phone and enquire,or log onto their website.

Just to encourage you,the sun's coming out in the UK midlands!

  5. it depends on how bad the weather is.

  6. " It will clear up about dinner time "
